Clamming

I don't eat clams, and I don't love digging them either. But I do enjoy going down to the beach during a clam tide to watch all the craziness. And it is crazy! I am amazed every time at the sheer number of vehicles driven on the beach and the many methods people use to dig the clams, the attire they choose to wear on their bodies and their feet, and the mode of transportation they operate and how many people they can get into and on that transport!

Summer Fun

Today it is day 2 of rainy, gloomy weather, so I am dreaming about the times we had some fun in the sun. We've enjoyed playing in the back yard here at Grandma and Grandpa Fischers' house, which is very nicely set up for playing and watching kids. Slip n' slide...shish kabobs...trampoline...kiddie pool. There are also a couple of pics from the Kenai River Festival. We spent a couple of hours there and enjoyed some really nice weather! Having the concert is such an improvement, because I could declare a home base with Ollie instead of carrying him around the whole time. He and his gal pal Katie Cox enjoyed flirting and fighting.

House Progress

We're moving along nicely! I enjoyed a day on the jobsite as a worker (no kids!)when the trusses arrived. It also happened to be our 9th anniversary! My job was to hook up the cables from the boom truck to the trusses to be lifted to the tops of the walls. It's so nice to have Mom's motorhome parked there (thanks Mom!) so on nice days the kids and I can hang out, have a bathroom to use, a fridge and stove to cook on, and beds to rest on when necessary! I am also very excited to have a picnic table! This last Sunday we had a hotdog and smores roast over the fire that Carson built in the fire pit he dug. He was in charge of the whole thing!
